Lab-on-Mask for Remote Respiratory Monitoring

Abstract

A smart mask integrated with a remote, non-contact multiplexed sensor system, or “Lab-on-Mask” (LOM) is designed for monitoring the respiratory diseases such as the COVID-19. This LOM can real-time monitor the heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure and body temperature associated with symptoms of pneumonia caused by coronaviruses. Due to this remote monitoring system, frontline healthcare staff could minimize the exposure they faced from close contact with the patients and avoid the risks of being infected.
